The 2017 NFL draft is just a few weeks away. We all look forward to it, but how much does the average fan know about the players and how they may fit into our schemes? Is a DE a 3-4 or 4-3 end? Want to investigate and be educated, then tune in every week, usually Thursday’s to listen to former scout (Dallas, Philly & GB) Bryan Broaddus, Dane Brugler, draft analyst for CBS Sports & David Helman for their review of players at all positions and their fit for the Cowboys at positions of targeted needs. You can find them on dallascowboys.com, check for times of the show or catch it on replay later in the day. Also available on ITUNES. From time to time Taylor Stern steps in and she is incredibly up to speed and insightful with the pros and cons of the college talent.
They challenge each other in peeling back the player and their fit. Bryan is always challenging the group to think their way through the process of player selection. Seeking maximum value in every pick. It’s a great hour of enlightenment. They look at all players, discuss the issues surrounding players and how it affects their draft position. On draft day, is when they really shine brightest in my eyes, as the last few years I’ve watched & listened to them and had NFL Network up on the big screen simultaneously, projecting pick by pick and these men knock out the NFL Network even with their behind the scenes attention to who’s phone is ringing. I mute the NFL Network in favor of The Draft Show! They nail the likely picks for every team. They do a marvelous job and we all really need to listen to them if we want to be dialed in.

Dane Brugler spends the whole year analyzing tape on the prospective draft prospects and it culminates in his annual Draft Guide. I’ve made the purchase the last three years, its a modest cost ($7 last year) and a great tool to provide all the information anyone could want going into the draft. Comes as a PDF and its roughly 200 pages. Its coming out on March 31st, find it on his twitter page and I’ll look to add it for everyone to find later on the 31st. See a player you like jump over to Youtube and look for tape on them, where it’s free. Then you’ll have a great look at players that they view as legitimate prospects for the Cowboys.
This is a must have if you want a great look at the top players in the draft. Dane reviews 25-35 players at each position. Full write up! https://t.co/2NuBA4slyS

They will be in studio at the Star all during draft week and live during the draft, all three days. They’ve also been able to get the draft selections on the phone after Jerry’s made their selection and they do a brief interview with them. If you’re not listening to them, do yourself a big favor. All prior shows are available on the Cowboys website if you want to go back and hear them all.
