Doug Free Retiring!

News is breaking that Doug Free, who was drafted in the 4th round in 2007 is advising the team of his decision to retire.  He’s battled injuries and surgeries the last few years and there were rumblings this may happen.  Not flashy, but a solid gamer and well respected OL leader in the locker room.  He will be missed! Often faced the RDE’s who quit knocking heads with Tyrun and ran to Doug’s side.  Judge the man by the body of his work, not be being beat on a given play.

Challenge now will be filling the void.  Team would probably want Chaz Green to take the spot but injuries have stunted his development and even assessment of his ability.  Did jump in for Tyrun Smith this year and put on tape a solid effort.   Do they revisit the idea of moving La’el Collins to RT?  Puts OT in the draft equation but that may be one of the weakest positions in this years draft.  May not have a single OT in the 1st round and when did that last happen?  However, desperate teams will reach …….
