2017 Draft

NFC East Draft Breakdown

How did our fierce rivals fare in the draft thus far? The surprise to me, was the NY Giants not addressing their offensive line early, nothing thru 4 rounds. Granted when they play the Cowboys, it doesn’t matter who’s been blocking. We can’t touch Eli no matter how porous their line is the other 14 games of the year. The Giants added to their already top WR corp by adding Engram, supposedly at TE. Probably more a guy to play in 4 wide situations. Has 4.42 speed. Looks like a match up nightmare and just another reason why adding CB’s is a necessity for the Boys. The Giants added Tomlinson, DT in the 2nd to play alongside “Snacks” with the intent to stuff Zeke in the hole. Surprised to see them take Webb at QB as a potential successor to Eli in such a weak QB draft class, but hopefully it becomes a burnt pick, same as Nassib. Added RB Gallman in the 4th.

Philadelphia’s draft is not one that Cowboys fans may like going forward. They got one of the best DL in Barnett and he’ll help them with the loss of Bennie Logan up front. Another player to stuff the inside versus our O Line and Zeke. Their 2nd round selection of Sidney Jones is one of those Cowboy type picks of a guy starting on PUP. Suffered an achilles injury and probably lost for the 2017 season. Prior to the injury, Jones, was considered a sure fire 1st round pick. Great value pick if he can return healthy. Not happy to see them get these two players. Douglas a CB was their 3rd round selection, so an already tough defense, may have gotten a bit better. Adding Hollins at WR just another toy for Wentz. Expecting them to be tougher from start to finish this season.

The Redskins appear to have done some fine work in the draft. Getting Jonathon Allen on the DL and Anderson a LB is another team looking to stuff the middle against our Boys. They too went for an injured player, high on most analyst boards and thats Fabian Moreau, CB from UCLA. He may show up mid season after suffering a pectoral tear.
